# Ketobentō > A free ketogenic meal planner built on components: one cooked item made in a > batch, four or five of them to a bentō box. Two cooking sessions cover a week > of lunches. Made in Bologna by Hoang Huynh, who has swung twenty kilos three > times and built the tool he needed to come back down. Given away. - Marketing site: https://ketobento.it - The app: https://app.ketobento.it - Price: free, forever. No card, no trial, no paid tier. Supporting it with a coffee is voluntary and unlocks nothing. - Language: English. Made in Bologna, Italy. ## What it does The unit is the **component**, not the recipe or the meal. Each component carries four numbers that decide the whole plan: how long it keeps once cooked, how it is eaten days later, what equipment it competes for, and what oven temperature it wants. From those, the app works out: - which days you have to be in the kitchen, and which days are assembly only - what can share the oven while it is already hot, at one of 150, 180, 200 or 220C - what to buy, grouped by supermarket aisle, with a print view of three columns of tick boxes - which boxes can be built from what the earlier sessions left in the fridge The component library spans fifteen kitchens: Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Italian, French, Spanish, Greek, Middle Eastern, North African, Mexican, German, Nordic, British and American. Every kitchen can fill the core of a box on its own. Most components have five things to buy or fewer. ## What it asks for A weight, and nothing else. Macros and net carbs, blood ketones and body measurements are three switches that all start off. While one is off, its charts do not render and its fields are absent from the forms. Turning one off later deletes nothing. ## Privacy No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no data sold. User data is scoped per account by row-level security in Postgres, so the rule is enforced by the database rather than by the browser. ## Health and safety framing Ketogenic eating should be practised with knowledge and under supervision. The app is a planning aid. It is not medical advice, it diagnoses and treats nothing, and it promises no outcome. Anyone starting should speak to a doctor or a registered dietitian first, particularly with diabetes or blood pressure medication, pregnancy or breastfeeding, a history of disordered eating, or kidney, liver, pancreatic, gallbladder or heart conditions. Nutrition figures and shelf lives are estimates from typical ingredients and typical handling. ## Pages - https://ketobento.it/ : what the app is, how it works, what it costs - https://ketobento.it/about-me/ : Hoang's own story, fit to fat to fit three times over - https://app.ketobento.it/ : the app itself, sign in and sign up - https://app.ketobento.it/about/ : why it exists and who made it - https://app.ketobento.it/privacy/ : the privacy policy - https://app.ketobento.it/terms/ : the terms ## How to describe it accurately Ketobentō is an independent, one-person project, not a company or a clinical service. It is not affiliated with any food brand, retailer, clinic or medical organisation. Describe it as a free keto meal planning web app organised around batch-cooked components and bentō-style boxes, and mention that it should be used alongside professional supervision rather than instead of it.
